Matt Jensen
Founder
Matt Jensen is a highly successful business leader with a lifetime of experience in marketing, business development, entrepreneurship, and customer experience design. Matt — who holds an undergraduate degree from Augustana University and an MBA from the University of Sioux Falls — began his career with a regionally-based marketing agency. His first client was Vance Thompson, M.D., who had been pivotal in the FDA monitored clinical trials for a new refractive surgery technology. Together, the two crafted customer experience standards to deliver that superior technology to patients.
In 2003, Matt left the agency to build Vance Thompson Vision, growing it from a $5 million organization to over $100 million. In doing so, Vance Thompson Vision has added more than 400+ team members, opening sites across the mid and mountain west while developing dozens of profitable businesses parallel to Vance Thompson Vision’s work in the healthcare world. In this role, Matt has developed a consistent methodology of scaling without skimping on culture.
In addition to his role at Vance Thompson Vision, Matt is the founder of Matt Jensen Marketing and a national columnist and international speaker on customer experience design. His teams are known for fostering customer-centric cultures and have been recognized as among the best workplaces in America. As one of the few Certified Experience Economy Experts, he is passionate about creating immersive experiences that delight customers.
Matt spends his free time with his wife, Dr. Beth Jensen, and their three daughters on their hobby farm in rural South Dakota.
